Ranger Challenge
During the competition, cadets from Liberty Battalion spent a long weekend in October showing their stuff. The events were the obstacle course, leader’s reaction course, day and night land navigation, basic rifle marksmanship, a mystery event, weapons assembly and disassembly and, of course, the Army physical fitness test. During this year’s Eastern Region Ranger Challenge Team Competition, Liberty Battalion MSII Glory Williamson-O’Neil took home a prize for achieving the top physical fitness score. O’Neil scored a 390 on the extended scale; an accomplishment, she said, made possible only through hard work. O’Neil said she joined the Ranger Challenge team not only to better prepare herself for LDAC, which she will attend in a couple years, but mostly for fun. And yet even though O’Neil scored high on her PT test, she said the accomplishment that she was most proud of during competition was getting to be a member of the team.
