Fall FTX

On October 19, 2007 the cadets of Boston College and Northeastern University came together to participate in Liberty Battalion’s Fall Field Training Exercise (FTX).

For MS1s and IIs, the main training events were an obstacle course, a repel tower, and a combat simulator for rifle marksmanship. On the obstacle course, cadets were tested on their physical ability and motivation as they got over each obstacle. The repel tower enabled everyone to conquer their fear of heights as they bounded off of a 45-foot tower. The combat simulator gave everyone a chance to improve their marksmanship skills without the comfort of stationary paper targets.

For MSIIIs, this weekend was about preparing for LDAC. These cadets conducted a written land navigation test, a night land navigation test, STX lanes, patrol bases, and FLRC. Finally, the FTX ended on an exhilarating note with rides in blackhawk helicopters. Members of the U.S. Army National Guard took cadets on what is known as a “map of the world” ride. Overall, Liberty Battalion had a successful training exercise.
